Six engineers finish 6-month programs at national university
BAT Korea Manufacturing said on Jan. 27 that the company had finished its employee training program provided by Gyeongsang National University (GNU).
BAT Sacheon Factory introduced the Technical Growth Academy (TGA) with GNU to foster its technicians last year. The first graduation ceremony was held at the university in Jinju on Jan. 26.
Donating 15 million won as the University Development fund, Kim Ji-hyong Kim, head of Manufacturing and employees of BAT Sacheon Factory, attended the TGA graduation ceremony along with Prof. Oh Seok-gyu of the university.
“I am very pleased with the successful outcome of BAT’s cooperation with Gyeongsang National University to bolster talent development of our technical employees,” Kim said.
“I, with our employees who participated in the systematic education program, will grow into managers that will lead BAT Sacheon Factory in the future.”
TGA is a training program designed to foster the competencies of BAT’s technical operator employees and develop their managerial skills via the consignment training program with GNU, according to the firm.
Last year, BAT Sacheon Factory selected six qualified employees to receive systematic training on industrial technology, foreign languages, leadership, and MoS for six months.
Earlier this year, BAT Sacheon Factory signed the ESG Cooperation MOU with Gyeongsang National University’s Research Institute Future Applied Technology in January.
BAT and GNU have been co-worked to promote technology innovation and local talent exchanges, and BAT plans to expand its ESG investments in the environmental area using this as a platform.
